1. Position Your Design
Placement: Place your transfer carefully onto the desired location on your garment.
Smooth Surface: Make sure there are no big wrinkles under the area where the transfer is to be since it will ensure a smooth finish.
Heat-Resistant Tape: For hat applications and/or using a home iron, the heat-resistant tape should be used in securing the transfer to prevent movement under pressure.
It's all about Experience: With practice, you'll develop that 'feeling' when you think a situation requires these added safety measures, like using the heat-resistant tape.
2. Press
Temperature & Time: You should preheat your press at 300-320°F (150-155°C) under medium to high pressure for 11-13 seconds.
Always Test: Start with a test press on one piece to establish the optimum setting.
Protection: A Silicone Upper Platen Cover and a Garment Protector should always be used so that your garment does not directly come in contact with the iron and to save your transfer and fabric.
Don't Damage: You cannot damage the transfers by having too high a temperature, too much pressure or by holding it in the press for too long. However, you can scorch the garment. If still too hot, go 10 to 15° F lower still and avoid pressure.
3. Peel Hot In a Few Seconds
Easy Peel Technology: The Easy Peel Technology designed by us allows you to easily peel the transfer when it is hot or after a few seconds of its cooling.
Peeling Process:Note: Repeated pressing will not damage the DTFRunner transfer, allowing flexibility in your effort to get that perfect finish.
4. Final Press & Wash Instructions
Final Press Importance: Unlike a lot of the other DTF companies who claim one press is enough, through extensive wash testing, it has been shown that a final press is quite important in creating a premium and long-lasting product.
Washing Instructions:
Turn Inside Out: Garments must be first turned inside out prior to being washed. It protects the decal design.
Cold Water: Cold water is best when it comes to washing garments.
Drying: Low heat dry or hang dry. Although standard wash settings are not going to hurt your transfer, using lighter settings will help extend the life of it.
Maximize the quality and durability of your DTFRunner transfers by adhering to these guidelines. With each press, you'll achieve professional-grade results that stand the test of time.
